For the technologically inept, how do you find this out?

1280*1024

Bocaj - if you use windows (as the technically inept tend to... Or macs. No offence to anyone intended, I don't consider myself technically inept and I use windows), right click on your desktop, click properties, and then click the 'settings' tab. That will tell you what res you're using and allow you to change it.

Bocaj: in Windows, just right click on the desktop, select "Properties" from the menu and then click the "Displays" tab on the window that appears.

1440x900 for me on my iMac here, which I guess qualifies as "widescreen".

My computer is 1280x1024, my laptop is 1280x968 and my workstations at work are usually 1024x768.

I run on 1600 x 1200, single screen. Actually, I want to use both, but my other monitor is missing several parts and doesn't show the red channel.

Eh. The red channel is just a bunch of communist propaganda anyway.

1024×768

At least, that's what my Nvidia driver says is best for a 17 inch monitor.

1152x864, because it's the optiimum resolution for a 17" CRT monitor (i.e. as big as possible without flickering)
