You're not bad, though a suggestion to you would be to cut back on the double and triple posting. If you could kindly do that, it would be much appreciated.

I agree with Traysandor Vulpine there on the double/triple posting. I'm able to clean those accidental double-posts up for you if you wish; just let me know in the post itself, or any other way. I do get to check every post eventually.

Also, it may not be too big an issue, but most forumgoers like using images sparingly. It makes the topics load faster and is less of a burden on the server which has to store all those uploaded images. Another thing is that images don't have to be uploaded to be used here; in many cases, an [img] tag is sufficient (see the button above your reply text area.)

As a moderator, I really am not one to judge individuals by posting habits, but I've seen some posters with spelling difficulties that are otherwise very thoughtful in what they say, posters who have used double/triple/etc-posts for quoting several people, and including the entire quote with them, posters who attach images way too big to be seen on a computer screen, a troll, a pyramid scheme spammer, posters with chronicly short attention spans.... to be honest, you're alright.

Well it's not "See me" bad, but remember these things;

1 - You're not the only one here
2 - Pictures with no relevence are not well liked
3 - Not drawing attention to yourself is a good thing

But as this is you're first forum, I'm quite impressed so far. Most forum newbies are all like "omg i r teh greetest!!!!111!!!!one!!!!"

Keep up, follow the three rules, and you're more than welcome here

Other than the lack of editing as opposed to double posting and the images I only have one thing to say:

Everybody has their own writing style. This applies to internet posts as well. As long as your post is coherent (or at least by the standards of this forum) then it doesn't really matter how "good" they are.

Hey, I remember my first message board experience didn't go all that well either. My very first post I got trashed by someone. (Though in retrospect, that person was a jerk and I hadn't been out of line at all. Hindsight is 20/20.)

Just keep in mind that you can say as many unrelated things as you want in a single post, especially if you're responding to other people.

You're doing fine. Just ease up a bit on the double- and triple-posting.

I think that there are three issues I you coudl wrok on:

1) try edditing yoru posts if you have soemthign you forgot to say in the post you have previously made. I do this often. I onyl double psot if it's a bi after the post, lieka botu a day. I do that becaue peopel might nto see it otherwise but try to get eveythign in oen post and if youwant to add soemthign then post it.

2) I agree that the irrelevent pictures can be a bit much. Saladman made ti work though. Thsi oen dosnt; bother me as mcuh jsut soemthgin to keep in mind. I woudl apreciate it mroe if it was in line with the direction the thread is going in. Threads get off topic easly but almsot always a post has soemthign to do with soemthgin that was said previosuly ina post. Changing gears comepltly to include a pciture is a bit over the top for me.

3) This one is more of a personal anoyance. I don't liek people who seam liek their grabing for attention. This porbably isn't good of me but it sis a pet peave. Makign a topic to evalute yourself is part of this. It shows a posable lack of respect for the rest of the comunity adn I'm not down witht hat. I hope and I think I';m not beign hypocritical but I don't liek it when poeple clammor for atention like this.

This is just my personal opinion. I hope you take it with a grain of salt. I hope you stick aroudn and contribute. We have and have had very diferent personalities and they have all (with oen posable exception) givin this comunity a great flavor and have added to it greatly.

Quote: (Tavis @ Dec 15 2005, 01:57 PM)

I've seen some posters with spelling difficulties that are otherwise very thoughtful in what they say

oh Tavis. *blush* you're makign me blush

Heh, I don't mind you too much, Asterikboy86.

For someone who's really new to the internet, you are doing well. Actually, the "rate me" thing made me roll my eyes until I read what you said. I agree with pretty much everyone else here.

@Norsenerd, you're words are spelled fine, they just have that auto-scramble feature on.

Just what other people have said. Double posting (two posts in a row) deliberately isn't generally a good thing, though is occasionally acceptable in specific circumstances that in general are best left to people more active on this forum than me to deciede upon, on a case by case basis. And the images are, while occasionally interesting, generally not exactly beneficial to the thread.

"Posting website" = forum
Random attached pictures to every second post = not a great idea
Checking with members about own posting ettique when in doubt = good idea
