This is unbelievable.

<a href='

http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/tops ...
Ronnie Elder is one of my closest friends at school. I just can't believe this....

You know, you never think something like this would ever touch close to you, but then it happens. And in a horrible way. It only just occurred to me 30 minutes ago to follow up on my suspicions.... and they were correct. What a gut-twisting way of being right. Having someone you know personally, just.... die needlessly.....

I sure hope Ronnie gets a long vacation from school. I don't know how I'm going to see him when he gets back. This is just too horrible.

Ronald Alan Elder
Father to Ronald Elder Jr. and husband to Gail
1962-2005. Rest in Peace.

Very sorry to hear about this.

Best wishes and hopes to the Elders in this dark time.

[EDIT] Unfortunately, I lost my mother to a heart attack during college, and have lost a few former students to various things ( Suicide tops the list of causes for former students).

This is tough stuff.

She had alzheimer's for years before now though, whenever we saw her it just broke your heart because she wouldn't even recognise her own children. It was for the best.

Yeah....my mom's mom died of a stroke in her sleep, so I never got to say goodbye...my dad's dad I think also died of a stroke (or a heart attack, can't remember).

It's okay now. I went to the funeral service last night, and it was sad and everything, but I was surprised because Ronnie was dealing with it a lot better than I thought. He even organized his paintball team to give his dad a 21-gun salute. It was nice. And I think it'll just get better since most of the community now has a sense of closure over something so senseless.

Thanks for all the replies, guys. I really appreciate it.
