I would like to be able to talk to you guys while at work, but I can't. Although the Java IRC works at home, when I try to use it at work, it isn't able to connect. If it helps any, our work compy has windoes XP, and uses AOL 9.0 optimised to connect to the internet.

I don't know anything about AOL 9.0, but perhaps your work has the IRC port blocked. The default IRC port is 6667, but try port 6666 or 7000. Maybe you can connect with one of those.
Another trick may be to use IE or Mozilla once AOL is connected. That was a trick I used to use in my internet limited days on the island in Alaska. The AOL program is not great for browsing, but you can use the network connection for other programs.

I've tried both. Is it possible they might both be blocked. If so, I'll try and see if I can unblock them. If I can figure out where that kind of setting would be found.

EDIT: I've tried using IE too.

Erm, just a thought, but try using Acidchat.net's client. Of course, you'll have to put in definecynical for the room name.

You might also try using diffferent servers. main.acidchat.net and manc.acidchat.net are probably the ones you want. Main seems to work better than manc, but perhaps that's just me.

I work at a gas station. We have a compy and internet because we are a Uhaul dealer too. XD

I simply have to get off my arse whenever a customer comes in, then I can sit right back down when they leave.
