Hey, if you've ever wondered how a toaster works, here you go:<br><br><a href='http://home.howstuffworks.com/toaster.htm' target='_blank'>Howstuffworks: Toasters</a><br><br>If your wondering, I just dissected my toaster tonight. It had gotten to the point where it wouldn't stick down. Think I've got it fixed, though.<br><br>High tech stuff, I know, but I've always found electrical appliances interesting to take apart.<br><br>

I have no idea why this second hole is needed because you obviously get air from the first one.

Otherwise you end up with your gasoline/diesel fuel/v-8/grape juice all over the place.

It's like biting a hole into a can and sucking the juice out of it, it's hard cuz you gotta let the air in when the pressure gets too low so if you put another hole on the other side the air can get in whenever there's a pressure decrease and you won't have to let the air in (but that depends on the rate of decrease compared to the rate of air flow which depends on the size of your air hole).

Howstuffworks is a great site - I learned how to pick locks and build a gun on there. Education for the masses!

That is a pain. Stupid clips never work right, and heat sink compound requires time to put on right. (A single thin layer on the die only, and don't smudge it when putting down the heat sink, just press it into place. Of course the tabs are worse, you can't work with those, because as soon as you attache the heat sink once, you have to remove the tab, and repolish the bottom of the heat sink.)

It's a great gag. I should go through and do it some day.<br><br>You need to replace the spring mechanism with a much more powerful one. This means upgrading all components to meet the new requirements.

Either that, or a toaster that works really well as a catapult . . .
