I'm sorry, you all seem to be delusional

This will be the greatest game ever.

To actually gain any details on it from the past... Uhh... 18 months or so of developement, I suggest browsing through This forum. Although some quite old screenshots can be found on ign and cube-europe, I think.

On a more serious note, however, all four games so far listed are exceptional. Although the GTA series doesn't really appeal to my wallet.

These new games are nice and pretty, but nothing can beat the original 3D Tetris game, FRAC. Released in 1990, Frac will still run in Windows XP! And I've been playing it almost without stopping ever since its release almost 15 years ago

[EDIT: The link I posted with this isn't the correct file, I'll post another when I track down a good copy of it.]

Meh, the only "great" thing about GTA4 is how big the gameplay field is. I'm sorry but lately I have lost interest in GTA games, mostly because you people overhype them. I haven't touched Vice City or GTA3 in almost 6 months, because i've lost interest in the usual "run people over, shoot this guy, blow this up" crap in games. Sure, I liked them back when I was 15, but I guess that's normal for an angsty teenager to do, "hate the world and i'm misundestood blah blah" stuff.

Lately, newer games have been coming out with some interesting features (IE DooM 3 and it's dynamic lighting and insane darkness, Half Life 2 and it's physics, Far Cry and it's impressive view distance and beautiful tropical landscapes) that add to the gameplay, but from what I can see, GTA has really just.....well, not changed really anything. It's the same repetitive gameplay over and over again, you're just doing it in a different city.

Now, if you want some of my favorite games, here they are:
Gran Turismo series (I'm a greasemonkey, so this is required for me)
Ragnarok Online (The only MMORPG i'll touch for another 6 years)
DooM (iD invented the FPS, and with DooM 3, has created quite an interesting combination of survival horror and FPS, and it's dark!)
Furcadia (Not a game per se, but it's an awesome RPing environment)

The greatest game ever?

Well, Final Fantasy VII already came out years ago! And Chrono Trigger was out even long before that!

What will be the greatest game ever is moot, for the greatest games already have been.
