The amount of stupidity in this thread is insane.
Which makes it different from the majority of threads on this forum how?

While the concepts of "true love" and "fidelity" are fabrications of the human psyche, there is a biological basis for long-term commitment to another individual. When humanity was in its infancy, keeping newborns alive required both parents, as it takes several years before a human child develops even the token amount of independance required to forego 24/7 protection. Therefore, the species had a vested interest in keeping compatible pairs together for a few years. Relationships of today are a holdover from those times, and keeping things from falling apart with your partner takes considerable effort, especially after the biological impetus peters out (which takes roughly 4 years).

Personally, I have better things to do with my time than cater to someone else's mushy side.

Sounds like somebody is grumpy because he can't get laid.

No, I'm grumpy because of the inane idealism that gets bandied about on a yearly basis. Nothing annoys me faster than needless stupidity - save for religion.

Sounds like somebody is grumpy because he takes things too seriously.

If I didn't know better, I'd say that couch was up to something.
Surely you don't think the O&M-verse is the only 'verse with an interdimensional couch.

Translation: I'm creepy and scare girls away with my lack of bathing. Its better to pretend that love doesn't exist then to admit that don't like me.
