This guy's TOTALLY religious. http://someonewhogivesafuck.com/molatar/index.htm

Furry? I'd say so. Or is it "scaly"? >_>

Yeah... if that guy's just now freaking out about furries, then he needs to lurk more. rly. They're not that bad.

God loves you so much that He let His only Son, Jesus, die on the cross to pay the penalty for your sinful nature
Typical God, passing the buck...

http://someonewhogivesafuck.com/molatar/Evolution.htm

To this part I just say three things.

1 - Explain the dinosaurs.

2 - Explain why God, this immensly powerful, all knowing all seeing NON-specific deity, created the ENTIRE universe just for little us? Seems like someone somewhere is getting bigheaded.

3 - Explain other religions, namely Hinduism, which outdates almost all other major religions, and whose records date back as far as I can piss.

Bah, religious nutters. If God's there, he's on the kazie cuz he sure as shyte isn't listening to me.

Also, don't get me started on this dude's stance on Marijuana... :wag:

EDIT - Actually, I will...I mean look at this...It seems that he just did everything to excess, then wondered why his body rebelled...what a tool.

I don't support the guy on much, but I know of a rebuttal to one challenge:
2 - Explain why God, this immensly powerful, all knowing all seeing NON-specific deity, created the ENTIRE universe just for little us?
Reverend John Piper says that the universe is supposed to be an understatement for the greatness of God, not the significance of earthlings.

According to a lazy person's (me) definition of creationism, wouldn't god have created marijuana? And for a purpose presumably. Therefore, god wants you to light up.

In that case, didn't God create deadly nightshade, just for you to kill yourself with?

1 - This is where I prove myself to be something of a liberal Catholic. I've never dismissed the theory of evolution even though the church has told me I should. There are a lot of views I don't share with my faith instituion because I take the time to look into my heart and decide what I truely believe; not blindly follow anything the Church says. People seem to think they have a direct line to God or something, which obviously they don't. Anyway, more to the point, I think people get hung up too much on the fact that humans were created in God's image. In my mind, image doesn't have to mean physical image and how we look (all that jazz). It can be more of how we reason or act or even things in a metaphysical sense. The fact is no one really knows and we're not meant to fully while we're on this earth. Therefore, I personally I feel that evolution could have been a part of God's great plan for us. It doesn't have to be an argument against him, but can be an example of how he allowed us to come into being. I don't rely on the whole Adam and Eve theory because I don't believe the point of the story is if it's true or not. Maybe it is, maybe it's not. What's REALLY important is what we take away from it.

2. I rather like what Tom said about this one ^-^

3. I personally don't have to explain them because I don't believe in them. I don't think any one religion is 100% right. However, I do believe some are more dead on than others. If you have one of those faiths, like Hinduism, I hope it gives your peace of mind and all that. I acknowlegde their right to be a faith, I just don't ackowledge them as being valid - I don't have to, because at the end of the day, it all comes down to our own personal opinion of how the world works. You just have to keep it your opinion and not force it on others.

That's not what the Catholic Church says nowadays.

Tabris, I was kinda more attacking creationists rather than Catholicism. Everyone's got a right to their own beliefs, just don't ram them down my throat when those beliefs are (to anyone who's ever watched Jurassic Park) obviously retarded.

Also, if God did create the universe for little us...it seems like the biggest waste of space since this peice of turd -

Oh, and for those wondering how much the Millenium Dome cost us British taxpayers. £50 Million. And it shut in 2002. Great. We may as well have built a bloody great big space laser...at least then we could've killed Osama cuz everyone knows he's on the moon.

Yea they can never decided.....I don't want to start a flame war. And I really don't care what religion you choose, just so long as you don't try to push it on me. But since we are on the topic the way it seems to >>ME<< (and this is my own view so don't get all worked about about it, also I am aware that I am being hypocritical by pushing my view point) is that everything they can't explain and the bible offers some explanation the bible is correct. But as soon as there is enough evidence that people quit believing the bible the church just says "FINE, I guess we were wrong and there is a logical explanation". Why can't people just be comfortable not knowing an explanation for everything? Sometimes it is that not knowing is what drives you to search for new answers.

->> Quit reading here if your already steamed <<-

In my view point I see no difference on using the bible to explain the unexplained vs the ancient gods of the Greek days using myths and legends to explain what they did not have scientific evidence for.
cheers.....

No, he created deadly nightshade so Tim Burton could make a reference to it in "The Nightmare Before Christmas."

I agree. Rooster, I think I love you.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...
