A wonderful Rant for this country :3

It's far more convenient to know things which appear certain (the sky is blue, etc.) than to constantly question them. You can see that the sky is blue, and you can enter philosophical debate about whether your senses are lying to you, but in practical situations there is no reason to assume the sky is anything but blue.
The probability of God's existence, to me, is equal to the probability of the existence of sixteen-foot-tall purple elephants dressed as nineteenth-century industrialists which live under my bed and breathe cold fire but turn invisible every time I check for them. Neither is worth considering (or both are worth considering, either way you end up with absurdity).

If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5, NIV)

I don't think people here for the most part are bing generally disrespectful when they respond with a little joke. Sometimes that's just the only way they feel comfortable responding as if to avoid any hurt feelings. Though I did first open my response with a joke, I truly did take what PR was saying seriously. As for this latest rant on knowing all well...of course I don't know it all. Of course no one knows everything. It's really not our place to and I for one never claimed to know it all. In science, we try to come up with the best explanations with the world around us using the tools we have at our disposal. Even with the advancing scientific knowledge available, we can never fully explain it all. For us Christians or I imagine for anyone who is religious, faith is our belief in the things not seen or the things not able to be fully explained. That's what Christianity is all about, it's about faith and that can't ever be scientifically proven. I'm a Christian and I'm also a scientist and I for one don't think those two things need be mutually exclusive. Look I'm glad that you feel comfortable enough around us to speak your mind so freely. I like to see that, it's very refreshing but I need to let you know that if you let yourself get bent out of shape over people who claim to know it all or bigots on either side of an issue, you'll dig yourself an early grave. All that stressing out just leads to cancers and ulcers. Trust me it ain't worth it and for the most part there are decent people in this world. You just never hear much about em.
