I think Jack did too. It sort of died out. Maybe it'd be a good idea to reinstate them.

If warranted we sent a PM to why it was edited as well. Less often we would (or at least I did once or twice) put our names to the edit. It was a friendlier time. Sometimes.

I remember once someone was like "OMFG YOU MODS ARE FAG NAZIS U EDIT ME N R TOO AFAIRD TO SAY WHU U R" and then the mod was like "uhh, it was me. see how I colored the text, I'm the only mod to use that color"
