V-Day Rants

The general dislike for Valentine's Day around here is all too predictable. Come on, guys, be original.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

So, to sum it up, you're single and trying to excuse it with the looming approach of Valentine's Day?I don't ever have an intention of being involved with another person. Never have, never will. I completely and utterly dislike romance. Some would kill themselves for the other person. I can never hope to understand that. I can never really hope to understand romance I suppose. I'm happy being single and plan to stay that way. (If you really need examples of what people in my eyes become as couples falling in and out of love, watch Jerry Springer or Cheaters or something.)
Can't stand the loss of self reliance and will power that would come from falling in love. I love my freedom to think how I wish, act how I wish, and feel how I wish, not altered or inhibited in anyway by love. (Jesus, I sound like someone once hurt me love-wise before or something. O_o ) Woo for freedom of self reliance and self expression! X3

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just making HU-MAR. EL. OH. EL.

Well, noooot exactly. X3 There's no excuse to my being single. I'm glad I am. I just get kinda nauseated from how people become semi-retarded drool jobs over this holiday and over their lovers. Never actually made sense to me.So, to sum it up, you're single and trying to excuse it with the looming approach of Valentine's Day?

Stand Tall And Shake The Heavens For You Shall Be As Gods And Suffer A Far Greater Fate
Having recently been told by the only guy I've really been interested in that he doesn't want a long-distance relationship (he's not that far away), love and I are not on particularly good terms.
One can hope, I suppose. To everybody who's lucky enough to, enjoy your Valentine's Day

I went with the latter choice because...well that's just my stand on a lot of the smaller holidays and two, I can't give a definitive answer. Yeah being single rocks a lot of times but sometimes it's a real drag. My ex in now engaged to be married so of course there's a part of me that's constantly kicking myself for not committing a little more to the relationship. No...I'm not bitter about it y'all. I'm actually happy for her but there's always that little voice going What If? over and over again. So for this valentine's day it kinda sucks being single right now but I'm sure before the end of the day I'll be back to my usual "being single rocks" attitude.

Being original is old. Everyone says to be original. Everyone espouses being yourself. Don't be a follower they say. It's what everyone is doing. Blind obedience and unquestioning adherance is the new hip and cool attitude. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to Starbucks in my GAP jeans where I will turn on my iPod and make degrading comments about George W. Bush. The general dislike for Valentine's Day around here is all too predictable. Come on, guys, be original.

I was in a relationship once, but only because a friend of mine talked me into it. It didn't end well. She didn't even break up with me in person, she had my aforementioned friend tell me. I didn't really care, so I never should have said "yes" in the first place, but what's done is done. But now that it's Valentines day, that means I get to call another friend who lives in New Jersey(It's his birthday)!
