I think I assumed you were a guy from your name. Not that I know of other guys named Moddex, but somehow it struck me as masculine. Or maybe I just assumed male by default in the absence of evidence to the contrary.
To the best of my knowledge, I have not been mistaken for female in any context since infancy, when my long eyelashes gave some the wrong idea. Nevertheless, I wasn't the least bit surprised to complete a quiz that pronounced me 52% female. Maybe there's a market for liaisons.
And much as I like women as a whole better than men, I never seriously cared to be one, if only because they seem to get the short end both socially and biophysically (if you're a female past puberty, you know what I mean). But that's me.

I'd have to say I thought you were guy on 2 accounts. The first being, I've never seen a female account on this site, and second being the assumption that moddex was in relation to your name.
Though I never have ,nor will, think one gender is more superior than another. In my view it's one's action and intentions that rates them to be superior, rather than physical abilities. (remembering that "superior" itself is just as relative as "right" meaning its only that way to me and to others who see like me)

More than accurate, you are, LC. I too believe that should be the belief of society, but I seem to be taking my own view on myself from a more psychological point of view on myself. I wish I could look female because in that form, you are not judged so fiercely by your peers. With being a man, you have to look muscular, tall, not overweight, skilled, fast, tough looking, and even lower anatomy is super critical. With a female frame, you are not so badly judged. Not to mention, I find it more attractive. Men, have you honestly been attracted to yourselves? Nah, unless you love yourself physically or something. This whole self image thng has nothing to do with me liking a certain sex, but rather, what I feel comfortable inside of. I suppose I suffer from dysformia.I'd have to say I thought you were guy on 2 accounts. I have to agree with Tum0spoo; do what feels right to you. You need not the approval of others, just yourself.
Plus, you can't feel bad if you did what you feel to be right, and to the fullest of your ability.
...And females are judged just as toughly as males, from what I hear. You can escape that by detaching yourself from the thought of "I need other people to accept me."
Bottom line: do what you think is right, and do it the best you can.

Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Meh. Genders. We're stuck with 'em, we just have to deal. But, I believe, it's personality that really matters, which has nothing to do with genders.
Edit: And yeah I'm a geniuine female. But people mistake me for being a guy over the internet all the time. Bites.
It's probably because of my freakish avatars!

Well Moddex, as with Dana, you have my complete support in this. I say go with what your soul tells you to. Who cares what society thinks...society has been constantly proven to be a bad thing to take advice from. I have a friend who had the same troubles, and he had a hard time accepting that society considered him as "different." For the time, he still considers himself male, but he is thinking things through.
When society singles someone out for some reason, it's really to gain a security within themselves. They are themselves insecure, and therefore singling someone out for not being what they see as the majority gives them a false sense of security. Just remember, people who don't think with open minds, and who refuse to accept that anything outside their little bubble of false security are themselves the insecure ones, not you. And when you think of that, you suddenly feel better about yourself, and about how you are. Nobody is "normal." There is no such thing. People are how they are.
It helps to remember too, that in reality, there are millions upon millions of people experiencing the same thing as you. Knowing someone in this situation really opened my eyes to the problem of people singling someone out, and joining the crowd of false security. There is only one thing you should be, and that is yourself.
Hope this advice helps. I wish you luck, you have my support no matter what your decision is!
