People did this for me when I first joined, back when the SL furry community was much more close-knit, and I like to keep the tradition alive, even though the community has changed greatly since then.

You're the only one I've heard of who is unable to access SL at all since the update. The Second Life forums are where you should direct your frustrations, not here. Go to <a href='http://forums.secondlife.com' target='_blank'>http://forums.secondlife.com</a>. If you're unable to login there, call their support line because it's probably an issue with your account.

Unfortunately, yes. Only difference is that Second Life is more immersive because you control an avatar, a character that moves around and interacts in the freeform-style virtual world.
