Nuts. I really didn't mean to do that <!--emo&

And please don't quote Britney Spears again <!--emo&--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /><!--endemo--> . I read on another topic that if you put another "quote" thing after the post it will allow the whole thing to be there. or maybe it really is to big to post...

Apparently, the posts are, in fact correctly enterred, but it seems that when you stick in a Unicode character that isn't properly recognized, whether it's by PHP or IPB, it truncates the post while parsing it.<br><br>Interestingly enough, the "preview post" button renders it correctly, so it doesn't seem to be a problem there. Perhaps it might be a problem in the SQL code.

You don't think, by any chance, this could have anything to do with the other problem we have . . . Not being able to see or edit user profiles . . .

HA HA!!! I DID IT! We gonna have some fun now. It's the em dash (the first of two―apparently the second one works fine) in the General Punctuation category. Character Map, then check Advanced View.<br><br><!--QuoteBegin--> <table border='0' align='center' width='95%' ><tr><td class='quotetop'><b>Quote:</b> </td></tr><tr><td class='quotebody'> See―the <i>second</i> em dash works fine. Caoimhin, you should be able to do what you set out to do now.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table> <!--QuoteEEnd-->

What we really need is to just encase those em dashes in SEP fields. Then the thread won't break unless you happen to read it by accident. <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->
