I thought mine up only a short while ago. I kinda wanted a name that would describe me and sound cool at the same time. And I love names that are overloaded with meaning. So I picked code because I'm a self-proclaimed geek/1337 haxor and cat to reflect my furry side and of course my love for cats (we have 4 of them here in this tiny house). And then the C stands for my real first name, and the 2 C's together are for Command & Conquer, my big favourite game series.
So all in all, my name's too complicated to make sense really.

Before CodeCat I was called ImmoMan mostly on gaming forums, which where the only places I posted more or less. It means 'Immortal Man' and I thought of it when I first started playing Quake online about 8 years ago. Later I found out that sometime in history there'd been some Irish druid called Immoman, and because I'm half Irish that kinda added to the appeal so I decided to keep it. Until recently I started to wonder if it was really such a good name for a non-game setting, like this place. So I changed it to what I have now.

Jack's my name, so that's that. I like the images a dawn can conjure. The Raven part is a little more complicated. I've always liked and admired birds, and thanks to the mystery and importance given to raven's in mythology (which is an interest of mine) and Edgar Allen Poe's poem The Raven (which was one of the first poems I ever read) I chose to use it in my name. If I ever made a fursona for myself it would be a bird and ravens (also phoenix, kestrels and owls) would be high on that list.
