Yeah - for me it's my inability to draw and write humor

Sorry about the late reply, I've just noticed this thread.

On Talitha's Idea: That really sounds like a good idea, and I'd be willing to help out the cause in whatever way I can.

As for my description: Basically, I'm a bluish-colored fox anthromorph. Clothing is optional for furres, but if you do, I'm pretty much a jeans wearer top and bottom, I'm not much when it comes to style, I opt for things that can stand up to every day life and work in most situations. I am also quite skilled with fire, it's a trait I inhabited from a freak accident when I was just a kit. Also notable is my terrible luck with women despite the fact that I try to be as nice a guy as I can. One last thing, if you need a funny line, call me up, I can usualy deliver something to make someone laugh.

On the side topic: I had an idea for a big RPG-type story based on a nation that I made, but it never got off the ground.

I'd be somewhat biased in the matter, but I'd like to see a character with a lot of potential for change. I mean, as much as the whole static structure works for a comic strip like O&M, I love to see these things develop into whole story arcs where some of the smallest things can turn around and meet ya head on months, maybe even years later. Of course, it all depends on the style you're aiming for. Static, unchanging stuff has that enduring quality, and it maintains some of its innocence, but having something evolve as you go means you never have to be afraid of outgrowing it.

I'm kind of hoping I can acheive that, Tavis, in character development.

This afternoon, I toying around with story arc points and ideas, and an inspiration hit me. What if somewhere halfway through the whole adventure, my main character unintenntionally causes the death of a bystander? In the crossfire of a battle? What if isn't even a bystander, but rather someone she knew? Even personally speaking?

She would, perhaps, even be sent to prison for a spell on a charge of man slaughter.

That sort of experience would certainly change a person.

I like the idea of that, and I'm seriously considering doing that later on.

My only downfall dealing with the whole idea of this comic is that my ability to do mech. drawings and perspective poportions are not up to par. I'm hope that once I have everything in order, my artistic ability will have improved.

As far as humans go...they will appear for a storyline or two, but not often, seeing as how Anthros and Humans will be separted by the physical laws of two different realities. So if you don't exactly like seeing Humans in comics too much, you're in luck.

Alas, that can spell quite a problem.. it'd be hard to keep the story going in a lot of different directions with your main character stuck in prison. I mean, there would be plenty of prison scenes, but not much else unless that person remains hunted by the law, you simply move on further ahead glossing over the jail time, make it some past event that has shaped that person from the start, or make it a scenario where the person doesn't get punished from it except the personally scarring loss.

As far as artistic ability goes, there's always room for improvement. We are almost always able to imagine something a lot better than we are cabable of producing... I strongly believe my imagination would blow the special effects budget on a single image, not leaving room for the ones that started a split-second later.
Don't reveal all your possible storylines, don't want everyone to know do you?

The prison idea is possible. If you're going for a storyline based comic it's very possible, even with the main protagonist. He could very well go to jail through the route you laid but get out without serving a long sentence through the courts. This is easier if you make your protagonist a well known hero, but it could still work otherwise. If your main character is going to be the type of do-gooder you love to hate then you could make the jail storyline (and subsequent court stories) have secret dealings with threats or money mixed in, perhaps involving the government. If the storyline will hinder the flow (though i see no reason why my scenario would) then you could take a secondary (but still prominent) character through it. Perhaps he'll be falsely accused.

I'm stopping now, because i'm getting too many ideas from this.

As for artwork, i definitely recommend getting competent at the particulars of the universe you're creating. If that means; furries, aliens, sci-fi, then so be it. You can have simple art (like Boxjam's Doodles) but you should strive to be good within it. Maybe collaborate with someone if it's easier.
