HAH, good one felix, I agree with you.<br><br>Just because it has fox in the name isint the only reason to like it, Its fast, sleek, reliable, has some nifty add-ons, but most imprtantly, it has FIRE in the name too.

Although actually I thaught the next standard internet thing was going to be php, I was just using 'html 5' since it is awkward to predict what will come in the future with anything to do with computers.

I used to use IE, but then right around when Firebird became Firefox in that day I heard like 3 different people say it's pretty awesome so I gave it a try. Tabbed browsing is a hero to the people.<br><br>However way back in 1995 I loved Mosaic.

Someone agrees! I find that tabbed browsing feature a big annoyance and unnecessary when faced with the taskbar (which in its default location is also inconvenient and wasteful of valuable screen space) I mean, there are some good places for it, but then it's harder to manage them all with keyboard shortcuts.. CTRL+Tab is good for going between them, but closing a tab or going to another window to visit those tabs and managing them becomes a big fuss of CTRL+Tab, Alt+Tab, and several mouse clicks.. hm.. *tests for the expected result of trying CTRL+F4* Yup.. no response there.

While it is true that if you do want to use either alt + tab to change between windows, or a simple click of the task bar (pre-xp this could wind up being more trouble than it was worth in cases of... Say... 5 browser windows, an IRC client, a mush client, an e-mail program, and... Lets say 10 IM windows open at once, due to it requiring scrolling through the taskbar. Post xp and.. It's still kinda annoying due to the menus required) tabbed browsing can be annoying (which is why for a while after I got firefox I still used multiple windows more than tabs), I find it helps me because I have a severe dislike of leaving more than one window for any particular program up. I guess I just prefer how it looks on the taskbar, far.. Neater, I guess.<br><br>That and multiple windows I <b>think</b> takes up more memory/processor power than multiple tabs. But yeah, each to there own. (I see the advantage of both methods, having switched from one to the other. Having a mouse that's good for anything now-a-days does discourage me slightly from using alt-tab <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->)<br><br>On a tangental note - anyone care to explain why M$ have figured out how to open multiple files within one window with some of Office, eg Excel, but doing it with Word continues to elude them? (At least I seem to remember it being that way from later versions of office than I have access to at home, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

Meh, I don't use the tabbed browsing feature. I just think FF is more nifty than IE. And no, it's not because it has Fox in the name.<br><br>Like Sabre said, it has FIRE in the name, too =P<br><br>Actually, FF has just always been faster, more reliable, less likely to freeze, and doesn't give me error messages on a daily basis.

On the occasions I've used Mozilla, it took a lot longer to load, was less stable, and gave more non-page-related errors. I guess it depends on the person and the computer [shrugs]
