You missed a crucial slide, Tum: it was England in 1900. You know, back when the sun never set on the British Empire.

England has existed for so long it is second only to china.
What are you basing this on? If it's the lineage of royal houses then I'm fairly certain Japan's is longer. If it's recorded history, then the Middle East countries are much older. Or are you referring to the actual names of countries?

Stupid kids are more likely to become criminals later. ;)

No that poor kids

I think that if China declared war on us, they would beat the shit out of our country.

No way. There is an ocean between us. China would have their planes blown out of the sky and boats sunk before they even get here. Meanwhile we would be attacking them out of Japan, south Korea, and other surrounding countries. They might have a million man army but that don't mean jack if we just drop bombs on them and they don't bring the fight to us.

Thats not even getting into how hurt their economy would be if we cut them off. Not to mention the international backlash against them.

You seem to forget that we're already in a failure of a war. I remind you of the faults of our current leaders

No. China's military is massive ,but poorly organized and technologically inferior. Even if we don't factor in nuclear weapons, US wins. This war would also not be an occupation. American forces had no problem rolling into Iraq and seizing cities and the like, the problem comes from having to occupy these places for years. China would be incapable of delivering any soldiers or vehicles to US soil without being intercepted by superior US forces.

This is all just military stuff, I'm not gonna touch the economics of Chinese-American war.

As for Tum0spoo's comments I have a couple of responses.

First off, I think the technology and information increase is a problem for jobs. Here, our paper mill used to provide around 2000 jobs, back in the 70's, nowadays, it employs around 300, due to new mechanized processes, and computers. If computers become better at doing our jobs than we do, where does the common man stand?

And Secondly, the Chinese honour students.
What you said makes sense, but I don't think that's what the video was trying to point out. US may have twice as many honour students as China Per Capita, making US smarter on average, but that's not the issue. China is surging forward at great speed, and with so many bright minds, they may surpass the USA in technology and development, and become the world's new power, leaving the smaller US behind.

And like Tom said, Britain in 1900 was alot better than US in 1900, it wasn't talking about the present day.

I disagree with your comments about the standard of living also. Measuring the average income of people in various countries, medical and security services, cost of living, government stability, presence of racism, sexism etc. etc. and all that all factor in. It isn't merely based on opinion.
