I <3 Rooster for sure.

My MP3 CD player has worked for years, and I don't foresee a time where I will need over 700MB of music at a time. And even If I do, I will just make a few more CDs. THEY AREN'T REALLY THAT BIG.

Heh... I've been using MiniDisc for years. Sure there's copy protection, but that's just for digital copies through the optical input, and only prevents me from copying stuff from disc to disc. ^^

As far as selection's concerned, it's your fault for getting into a system that is inherently limited. I never did buy into the iPod craze because of that. MP3's are easier to use and you can make them from virtually anything. Now, some of those other audio formats seem interesting; I might want to consider ripping the CD collection again.

*snrrk* Well said Rooster. :D

A couple of years ago, my mother won an iPod from some radio station giveaway contest thingy. She didn't want it so offered it to me, but I didn't want it either. Turns out we make a good choice, because the iPod was broken right out of the box. Quality control, bah, who needs it? :P She had a terrible struggle with Apple to get the thing replaced, and then she turned around and sold the replacement to someone else. :D

Just because it's new technology, doesn't make it good technology in my books.
That's right, but personally I think it's good technology. For me it's more convenient than CD's or mini-discs. Sure, there won't be a single time I require ALL the music I've put into it but it's still better (to me) than having to carry a CD case when going away for some time.
I don't know what other systems are like, but I've never found iTunes/iPod limited. In fact it's given me more freedom regarding organizing, listening and carrying around my music.

Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...
