Sum Poe-at-tree

During my religious hiatus, my English class and I were assigned a poetry project in which we were supposed to create a book containing 15 original poems. Well, that was the easy part. The fun was that you had to add five pictures to the book, drawn or not. Guess what? I drew mine, and I did an illustration for every single poem; 70% anthro.
All in all, I received a 110 on my project, and I do seem extremely pleased on my success. Anyway I decided to share my poems with you all. I decided not to show the sketches that the poems came with because I think that it would classify under my other thread "My Sketches and Comics." So, yeah.

I guess I’ll start off with one of my more popular poems. I posted this one on my DA account and it’s doing really well and I showed it to my classmates and they think it was really good. Here’s my poem Silencio.

Silencio
By Johnathan Segovia

Silence is not quiet;
Nor is quient silent.
There is no such thing as silence or quiet;
Only sound.
All alone all by myself;
My brain says it is "quiet",
But my ears beg to differ.
Silence is a tone that wants to be heard,
All you have to do is listen.
Lightly aloof, my head wanders,
To music and songs not heard,
But made to be heard.
Not a living soul around.
My head thinks "silence"
But my ears beg to differ.
Personification comes to play.
Giving life to emptiness.
Giving sound to emptiness.
There's a lot of sound in silence.
Just listen.

Poetry.

Stand around a day,
talk poetry -it's okay.
Yet for me, I say
Be it that kinda gimmick
rythmic limmerick,
or the words from you who do
write in form haiku
all it seems to be to me
is people ending
lines all pre-maturely.

What misuse of space.

It's a german one, I wrote once (well not too far away) it's hard to translate, but I will give it a try...

Selbstmord (by me)

Was ist dies nun?
Ein durch eigenhand Hand verursachter Tod
So steht es im Buch.
Was fühlen dies Menschen,
die sowas gedenken und tun?
Handeln sie aus Schmerz oder Not?
Man weiß es selten.

Leben ist wie eine Rose.
Die Dornen werden immer vorhanden sein.
Die Blüte dagegen kommt und geht.
Pflückt man diese. So ist es anders.
Die Blüte wird sterben, in kurzer Zeit.
Die Dornen, die bestehen.
Somit ist das einzige was bleibt,
nach dem Selbstmord, Trauer und Bitterkeit.

Translation:

Suicide

what is it?
A death, made by his own hands.
That says the book.
But what do such humans feel,
who want to do or just doing that?
Are they doing it cos of pain or affliction?
Only sometimes you know.

Life is like a rose.
The spikes will stay for ever.
The bloom will come and go.
When you cull it, it's diffrent.
The bloom dies, very soon.
Only the spikes remains.
So, the onliest thing, which stays,
are sorrow and bitterness.

The following statement is not to be taken as offensive in anyway but just a question.

What, pray tell, is surprising about poems being posted in a poetry topic?

easy to tell...
it would be far too complicated to start a new topic only to show our poems. That's why the Mehrheit, Bolshiviki or just majority decided to make this Topic to the all in one poem-Topic...

I just don't remember saying post YOUR poety.
One of the most important things to remember about DC is that your thread is not your property, and if people want to post poetry in it they're welcome to do so.

I'm afraid you didn't say not to, either.
