Nice, But the background badly emphasizes the actual picture.

Actually, the real title of the pic is "When Goth meets Ghetto".

So the background has a purpose.

If he was 9 feet tall we'd be calling him The Beast and call her Bell. Yeah stupid reference XD.

Nah, he's just taller than her. He's probably only like... 6ft... she's probably like 5'5-5'6

He's probably only like... 6ft...
In that case, he's skinny enough to worry a physician.

But I'd rather pay attention to the content. It's cute.

Yeah, the scaling is off, but it's a cute picture anyway. It just makes them look much older, especially with the glasses on Travis (so obviously he gets a lot taller after highschool, but Leah stays short. That's cute, too.) :D

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

So the background has a purpose.
Wait wait wait. Now, IANAArtist, but the viewer's eye should be able to infer a purpose from the background itself. I mean, if the artist has to tell the viewer that the background has a purpose, then the background has already failed in that regard since it itself should convey that, since one could argue the whole purpose of good art in the first place is to convey something without NEEDING any side text or explanations.

At least, that's how I understand it. >_>

To be fair, the background doesn't remotely resemble anything related to the goth rock movement of the late 70s and early 80s, nor the problems and struggles of everyday life in the average ghetto. So an explanation in this case, is probably necessary.

Well, I don't where you came to the conclusion that I was focusing on the "Goth Rock" movement, but I'm not. Also, I never made the ghetto side to be about struggles. Why the hell would I want to remind those who live there about those everyday struggles anyways? It's just graffiti art.

And besides, the colours just represents the characters basic colours.
