My sketchbook collection--complete and, well, for sale.

I've finished compiling and printing the contents of the book. Now all that remains is to do the cover and start drumming up some business. It's 26 pages long (plus a bonus sketch drawn in the cover), 25 of which you can see spread out on my desk (my other desk) in this photo:

Trying to steal your attention here is my 3-year-old brother Evan Lee*, who's even more awesome than me. :D He loves having his picture taken.

My desk has a lot of paint stains on it, in case you were wondering.

*I'm told that my parents didn't actually intend this to be a pun.

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

It's done! I've printed five copies, to start with, so here's some info:

>6.5"x8.5", b&w with color cardstock cover
>26 pages, with a blank page in back for the original sketch (yep, I decided to do that!)
>$5 US, though you can pay more if you want :D
>Has a number of never-before-seen drawings
>Shipping is free. (International customers too, unless they pay in foreign currency, in which case there's a currency conversion cost that PayPal charges. I'll have to charge a bit more in that case.)

Now obviously I hope to sell more than five copies, but I don't want to get my hopes up and I ran out of cardstock for the covers.

A bit about making the book: the paper is an odd size created by cutting an inch off a piece of legal-sized paper and folding it in half. It's a bit of a pain, but the resulting page has almost the same proportions as a letter size piece of paper, only smaller.
The staples in this book are exactly on the edge of the fold. Yes, this takes a special stapler, but I happen to have one. I got it years ago when I used to print my own 'zines. So this isn't new territory for me at all. Hopefully I'll actually sell more than two this time...

Oh, and it actually says "Cameron Nielsen" at the bottom of the cover, but the photo's too washed out to see.
Where did your brother Taylor go?
Well, he only joined because I kept bugging him about it. However, once he actually joined I realized that having one's little brother around on the Internet is actually even more annoying than in real life. He is of like mind I think (it's also annoying being in your brother's shadow), so he mostly spends his time on other forums.
Is your brother an added bonus for this collection?
No, he is sold separately.

How much for the kid
Seven million dollars.

As you can plainly see, the book is a bargain by comparison.

A little update: I've sold or reserved the original five, but now I've got the materials to print more. I just haven't printed them yet because I haven't needed them yet. Sales have stalled. (After only five copies too--dang.)

May I mention again that each issue has a custom sketch in the back? That kitty-up-a-tree pic is actually on its way to someone right now.

(I have been doing well with the commissions, though. Got another this morning I need to go work on now...)

Javs you creepy paedophile!

Also, at $5 each including shipping you're really ripping yourself off. Your art is very professional, and including a sketch in the cover makes it personal - you could easily request a lot more than that. I probably shouldn't be arguing this because I plan on buying one at some point, but eh.
If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5, NIV)

Well, I can rip myself off if I want to. Besides, I can print them for free, so that helps. But the real money is in commissions, that's for sure.

Of course you can; all I'm saying is that the value of your work is not well-represented by its price. This is just the dirty capitalist in me speaking here; feel free to disregard its advice. I didn't rhyme those two sentences on purpose, although if I did that would have been nice. That one was on purpose.
