I've looked around and haven't found one, but is there currently any fan who is doing colorings of O&M?

I've emailed the man himself about it, but no response yet.

Would you guys be interested in one? I've been colorizing my own archives for a week (you can see my coloring job within my icons and desktop example on the fanart section of the board)

I just did my first serious attempt at coloring on an icon-like image yesterday. I don't think I'm ambitious enough to take on the archive, but I'm already well on my way to coloring some animation-worthy clips.

One thing that turned me off on the coloring bit was that many of DC's original lines faded out when the fill tool filled an area. I found a way that works great for me, but I was wondering what you do about that problem.

paint bucket (paint fill) is the DEVIL. DEVIL I SAY!

I never use it. I use paintbrush on a varying diameter, 1-5 pixel thickness. for backgrounds I use gradient tool.

When color is added, I have to make a few changes and additions. I mostly have to add word balloons, or finish unifinished lines (when in black and white, you don't notice these. in color you notice them a lot).

Ahh yes, the missing word balloon. I forgot about those. Anyway, I did use the paintbucket in my colorings. *GASP*, but I also figured out a nice way to avoid some of its bad side effects.

I copy the layer (so now there are two), set the upper one to Darken and color one of them. When I'm done, the layer that has the original ink lines restores the lines that got smoothed out by the fill tool, or at least the lines that are darker than my choice of colors.

Also, in Photoshop, the fill tool has a sensitivity setting. Small numbers make it do less fill, larger numbers make it fill large areas quickly.

For Llewellyn's purple coat (see post in Animations), I actually went to the trouble of masking it, filling the entire thing with solid purple, and letting the black and white one put the details back in. The mask is hard to do, but I think that's much easier than poking through it with a paintbrush.

heheh. my coloring method isn't poking through each little bit to color it. its not as easy as just color filling it, but I can color smaller areas where one color cuts through another (millies hair, etc).

hm, I'll post this as one of the two I finished today. I couldn't think of a proper color scheme for the couch, so I just chose two similar colors.

<img src='

Hmm. nice coloring! The only problem I really have is time... i have enough time to type very quickly, but coloring on that scale, i just can't right now. I did color my own avatar, but tripod is dumb... so no-one can see it. in any case, good job with that! It's great!

Well, right now I have hosting and everything set up for it (but I have to wait a month before going public).

I beleive I'll put up the site as a fan site for O&M and have informed Simpson as such...if he's reading my emails.

I'll bring the site down if he requests it though. I doubt he will, I hope he won't, but you really really never know.

I can't go public with it for a month though (the provider requested this).

Sound good?

I have a temporary website up. This is just so I have the layout down and ready and whatnot. The archive, like it says, will NOT go online for around a month, when my provider gives me the go ahead.

Barring Simpson saying no, expect a good number of images to spring up when I am allowed to.

<a href='
