I recently gained a decent ability to draw. No lessons, no practicing, I just wanted to draw some cartoony characters on my one bookcover, and they came out good. Since then I've been occasionally attempting original drawings, but mainly have been drawing characters from the various webcomics I read.

http://www.zzt3.org/~Dr_Dos/Comicsa.JPG
http://www.zzt3.org/~Dr_Dos/Comicsb.JPG
http://www.zzt3.org/~Dr_Dos/Drawings2.JPG The best of the best.

Strangely enough, the simplest looking characters were the hardest to draw. I think I did pretty good on them, especially if I scanned in old doodles. Also I'm aware of my little mistakes, including not darkening Rex's neck in Drawings2. Proportion seems to be my main problem, that and feet...

Proportions are generally hard at first. With practice, you'll learn how to better use the basic shapes as a framework for your characters. Never underestimate the framework.
My main problem at the moment is drawing hands.

No education and no practice! That's the doctor's way! I didn't do much either to improve my art skills. I just let them come naturally over the years. Nice job, BTW.
