Oh its just from my experience and memories. I saw a friend build one and I myself have built many fighter plastic models. Also this was very challenging because of the lack of 'large' parts. There are no singular large parts that make up a large portion of a model. A plane would most likely have 2 for the main body and several for the wings and thats it for the main shape. My model had dozens of pieces for an arm or leg alone and like 6-10 for a foot.

That's a very impressive kit, my good sire. Although I am not too familiar with the Armored Core series, I have heard and seen a few things about it, and find most of the designs very interesting (Yes, I do have a thing for mecha, from the realistic to the more over-the-top ones). I, myself, am very fond of the fine art of model building, and have helped my friends on the process of assembling a few Gundam model kits.
Although I don't have any models myself, I do plan on ordering a few in the future. I just don't have the money to spend on this kind of thing right now :V

Yes, I am quite aware of those prices. My friend ordered a 1/100 scale Gundam Unicorn kit (this one: http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/8277 ... un2wt0.jpg. Yes, it is transformable) a few weeks ago. It cost him 4000 yen, but he paid almost 50 U$ for the shipping and handling (he used the safest and fastest shipping method available), and the final cost could've gotten even higher if he had to pay importing taxes on it (he bought it from a seller that used tax-avoiding procedures). But I think it was really worth it in the end, as the model itself looks amazing and was really fun to assemble.
