Also it reminds me of the old Screwy Squirrel Cartoons from the 40's :grin:

Indeed, it is funny. And I certainly hope the stuff that happens to Tom doesn't happen to Donnie... I can't think of the worst that happened in that show.

if you look at these cartoons a different way you will notice loads of references that children just won't understand.

Back in the day when you would go to a theater they would play a news reel, a cartoon and then the movie.
Most of the cartoons back then were made for adults.
Hence the adult hummer and crazy violets.

I remember back when I was a lad they used to show Tom and Jerry/Tex Avery cartoons on TV whenever they had a spare ten minutes... now, like the cinema it's just constant adverts, damnit

I don't really watch TV... blah, advertisements... they're trying to make them funny nowadays. Then there's that one guy that tries to sell that car wax/scratch remover. Uhg.
