True, these are more of beauty shots than animated quality.IMHO, trying to color in fur texture is getting a little too bogged down in the details. A smooth fill will do just as well, and save you lots of time. Which sounds like it'd be a good thing.

A method I've used in the past to decent results involves rendering fibers, and playing with the blend and levels. After a bit of poking around, you generally come up with a look that closely resembles fur.Look at Vertigo, I tried a similar shading method on him, I guess I need some refining.

It's partly the coloring style; partly the line style; and partly the fact that worried looks go well with Skippy, Finch, and Heywood.Explain? I am reading this strip as we speak.The scared one looks like he could have come out of "Mynarski Forest."
