Before I scrolled down to the lower two panels, I expected that the "big hand" would be either the sound of one hand clapping (okay, multiple hands, but separately) or something much more literal.

Its because of those damn video games. In my day kids did their civic duty and voted and volunteered at the Kiwanis Club and went to war. But today all they do is sit at home with their Duke Nukems and there Pokedymons and don't do a thing for their country. If we don't watch out backs the communists will sneak back and take us over before we even know it!
