I know they're trying to demonstrate there's no such thing as bad luck, but I don't think it's a good idea to shatter that mirror,
then walk under the ladder...

...because breaking the mirror and walking will mean you will get mirror shards on your feet! Then you will be jumping in pain and knock the ladder off balance! The ladder will then fall on the cat which will in turn scratch your face till its red!

...which in turn will cause you to step on a crack to break your mother's back, who will then spill salt in such a way that you can't throw it over your shoulder...
EDIT: BTW...interesting how the "black cat crossing your path" seems to take on a whole new connotation(sp?) in an anthropomorphic world.

Ozy doesn't have a mother on the material plane so he should be good for crack steppage.

Come on, what's the worst that could happen?

My brother used to believe in all those walking under a ladder, breaking mirrors = bad luck kind of things.

Hmm, now that I remember, I haven't broken a mirror or stepped under a ladder yet... pray that I never do

Do you realize what this means? New character!
Well...sort of. He actually has a name, though. That's something.

Not only a name, but also dialogue! And possibly the same age as Ozy and Millie? Similar height, anyway.
Also, check out those backgrounds. Third panel especially, that perspective, and those trees. Woahsome.

In England, a black cat crossing your path is considered lucky.

Lovely.
I also like Stevie... that was a name I always liked.

I don't believe in them, but I still don't feel comfortable walking under a ladder.

Millie with organizational skills? The world as we know it is in terrible danger.

Hey, new character! (If only for a brief time.) I have a cousin named Stevie....
And yeah, I don't believe in that kind of bad luck. Anyone here who does?

I'm going to guess younger, because in my experience, very few people over the age of seven introduce themselves as "Stevie." Stevie Wonder gets away with it by being famous.
Anyway, I welcome the presence of a young domestic cat who may not be obnoxious (as opposed to Felicia's friend), but I don't expect him to show up any more often than Emily.
