Oh yeah. He did say something to that effect. He also said that his portrayal of Avery was a form of penance for treating his brother unfairly.

I've said before, I think, that Avery and Timulty's relationship is based on my childhood relationship with my younger brother Scott, who really used to annoy the living daylights out of me (we're perfectly friendly as adults).What did he say to the contrary? (Also, I've never cared for being called "Dave.")

I'm surprised that it's Millie wanting the easy way this time. Had I not seen who said what (and "your dad" change to "Llewellyn") I would have reversed the speakers.
I think it's due to the recent blue marker incident, where Millie wanted to find a marker substitute rather than simply borrowing Ozy's marker.
Either way, nice strip. Timulty definitely resembles Calvin and his imagination sometimes.
