Remember to leave a half-inch left/right margin so your European fans can trim those letter size sheets to fit in our A4 frames

Anyway, it's a bit jarring at first, but I think this format might turn out to make more sense in the long run than the old one. If nothing else, it leaves way more room for dialogue.

Bigger panels cannot possibly NOT win.

I considered doing that a while ago, once I realized that strip size is really small.

I doubt I would change anything at this point, but it does look good for Ozy and Millie.

Me, I don't get it when some webcomics decide they need to be in *tiny little panels* - this isn't the late 80's or early 90's anymore, most people have decent internet connections. Heck, most people have computer monitors that are larger than 15 inches.

I was actually just remarking yesterday that monitors have gotten a lot bigger. When I started posting the strips at 800 pixels wide back in 2000, I got a fair number of complaints that this inevitably meant people had to scroll right to read it. I don't think that's true anymore.

The problem is that people don't adjust their resolution to their monitors. many complain they can't read the text and it's too small any larger than 800x600. I myself stick with 1024x768 and it's perfect for me. Not too big, not too small.

Allow me to be a dissenter here. I now have to scroll down, and I can't see the whole thing at once. Furthermore, bigger means more work for my eyes. My immediate reaction to today's third panel is irritation. Maybe I'll get used to it in a few weeks, but I'm not seeing any particular benefits yet.

This may be, in part, a testament to my amateurity as a Net cartoonist. I actually like a certain amount of shrinkage, because it obscures my little flaws. You should see my dialog text beforehand.

I'll have to agree with Tom on this one. I dunno... (maybe I just don't like change) but scrolling down is sorta annoying, and it's just a little too big, if that's possible. In this larger format, it's pretty hard to see each panel in it's entirety using central vision. I can't clearly see both the character and the text very well.

Although in the long run, it's up to DCS. Just because I may not like the new format does NOT mean I'll stop reading the comic altogether. And if DCS decides to keep it, what the heck, I'll adjust.

Is it permanent? I don't know, yet. It was sort of a spontaneous thing, when I started working on this week's strips--it suddenly seemed very stupid that I was still working in the standard newspaper comic layout.

Can you scan that unfinished strip you metioned? I wanna see it!

1280×1024 is too small? Because that's what I've got, and I'm having to scroll to see it all too.

I've debated doing this to my own strip a BUNCh of times, and I have to admit that my reasons for NOT doing it are pretty goofy. Basically, I just like the strip to look like what I think of as a comic strip. Not a REALISTIC reason, but mine anyway.

That said, I'm just fine with getting my "O&M" fix in whichever format D.C. prefers. And from an artistic viewpoint, I'm curious as to how NON-four panel strips would work in this format.
