I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, Tom.
I don't understand why the day is limited specifically to female offspring. I don't recall ever hearing of a "take your sons to work day" (they sure never had one at our school) though there probably is one, but why must they be segregated like that?

My school calls it take your daughter to work day, yet they still allow males to go to work with their parents.I don't understand why the day is limited specifically to female offspring. I was saying that I've always heard it called "Take Your Daughter to Work Day." The slight difference in what Millie calls it led me to suspect that the day has been renamed in many places in our world. "Our Daughters" is somewhat friendlier, less commanding.I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, Tom.
As I understand it, the reason for singling out daughters is that girls historically have had few work opportunities. By exposing them to workplaces, we encourage them to consider jobs other than traditionally female ones like phone operators.
