Well, considering how he required chili the first time, and mentioned that it was environmental, I'm not all that surprised.

To her credit, the story is nearly entirely true...only it's not "spontaneous" combustion so much as "sympathetic combustion"...that's not a very good pun.

There was this one time where I got to go to a field trip even though I left my permission slip behind at home. They just called up my mom, and then they let me on the bus.

Not quite as fun as a spontaneously combusting permission slip, but it works.
