For one thing, I'm fairly sure it's the only time it's come up, so it can't exactly be front and center in her consciousness.<br><br>And for another, all animals--at least all vertebrates, though I've been inconsistent about birds--seem to be sentient bipeds, in the O&M universe. So the pony thing is a bit weird and confusing.<br><br>But for the purposes of this storyline, she apparently finds the idea of getting a pony very appealing. I dunno. Whatever.</i><br><br><br>Seeing this strip again makes me want action figures of the cast. Millie for her breaking stuff/ tail wagging action, locke for water balloon lobbing and sword swinging, and ozy for well... being there <!--emo&^_^--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo-->

the pony thing has made a couple waves around here before, and this may open up that can of worms again!

Haha the pet topic has returned!<br><br>I don't see what's too far off about it, considering that Millie collects plushies too and holds conferences and protest rallies with them. Perhaps having a pony in there is like having a butler or something.. Wouldn't we all like to have some sort of housekeeper that can give us pony rides whenever we feel like it? I dunno. Then again, it could be something like a kid asking for a little brother or sister, y'know, as some sort of adoption... thing. Still, I bet it'd be pretty cool to have a pony in that world, sentient or not.

I thought it was different for Locke to ask for a pony. I remember pets were always gender-specific: boys wanted horsies (not ponies) and doggies, and girls wanted ponies and kitties. I was the exception: I wanted a snake or a lizard. I never got the snake (nor do I ever plan on getting one anymore), but I did have 2 green anoles when I was 9 and 10. It just seemed like kids always wanted to be as far from the opposite sex as possible, so boys always wanted a horsey, not a pony, since ponies were for girls. But those are just my observations on the world, maybe you had a different experience.

I never wanted any type of horse, but my sister sure did. I wanted a kitten, until I finally got one and it was mean <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... ns/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->. Now I want a puppy, either a purebred husky or a husky-wolf mix.

felix- just make sure you're living in a climate ok for that husky. i know some people who had a husky (pure, i hthink) in maryland-- that dog was absolutely miserable in the summer, and the autumn, and the spring, and the winter (if the spring/autumn/winter weather was warm, as oft happened). (when they got the dog, they were living significantly north, but then they moved. )

I had a husky wolf mix, He was awesome. When I was a wee one he would drag me around the house from his leash like I wasent even there. He was strong as heck, and he lived to be 18 too.

Several of my friends have huskies, they seem to be ok down here. Maybe it's the mountain air or something.

perhaps it has something to do with the fact that locke is from the alternate reality from under the couch that he want's a pony. If things are all topsy turvy under there, then that would make sense, right?

That's a good point, FoxChild. Locke will be referring to what he knows as a pony, and in the couch universe this may well be different from what it is in the normal (O&M) one. <br><br>Or it may just be that we aren't supposed to think about the logistics of it all, and just take it that they want a pony. Yea, we have a tendancy to think a bit <i>TOO</i> hard about O&M strips. It is just a comic, after all. ::runs away from torch mob::
