I always wonder if cartoonists ever have a clue what the food on their characters' plates is supposed to be. Very often it just resembles mounds of random gloop.
But then, I'm one to talk, aren't I.

It's true, Octan, that cartoonists often have a dim view of the appearance of food on a plate. In the case of C&H, it was fully intentional.
In college, I learned that many Buddhist writers talk about food like it's only slightly more pleasant than excrement. I don't suppose they've had an influence on DCS that way.
