Now we can date the time Llewellyn came to the US around the mid-late 19th century. He obviously grew up in Britain, and in that strip he says himself he wasn't a regular of that part of the world at the time. So he must've only just arrived there.

It's from Blazing Saddles, after the sheriff defeats Mongo with a candygram bomb. Just replace Starbucks with candygram in that sentence.
