<a href='

I did fail to mention in another thread that the music by the Beatles often reminds me of these strips, and vice versa. Clearly, John Lennon and the rest of the Beatles have been an ongoing source of inspiration for Ozy and Millie, and Simpson's respect for them shows. It is very heartwrenching to lose a musician of Lennon's caliber, and yet the images of people paying tribute to him in a scene not much different from this strip is probably one of the most enduring and comforting. It shows a people united in respecting the goodwill of a beloved soul.

Even after his death, John Lennon's music still endures to reach people today. The same can be said of other artists whose works reach us and inspire us to share them with others.

Death is never good.

And in such a careless, needless, and thoughtless manner, it's especially heartbreaking.

A totally obsessed fan. What we call "stalkers" nowadays. God alone knows what was going on inside his head. (I can't remember his name. Mark Chapman?)

What's kind of eerie is that a short time (a week or so, I believe) before he did it, he had his picture taken with John Lennon. Lennon was signing something for him.

I'm sorry, but I can't really relate to this. Yes death is terrible like that, but this was way before my time, and I like some Beatles songs but I wouldn't really say I'm a large fan. Great picture/strip, though.

John Lennon motivated the guy to kill him?

No. The guy was lunatic. All John Lennon did was inspire music lovers around the globe, and one of those music lovers happened to be a damned Norman Bates and expressed his love for John Lennon by commiting one of the greatest tragedies in music history.

(If the language offends you, just say the word and it's gone)

From what i've read Lennon gave Chapman his autograph and he thought that this wasn't enough, wanting to be as famous as his idol. In a way he did attain that.

Though i wasn't even alive when he was shot i still feel sad, it doesn't take a small thing like living in the same era to inspire admiration or hatred. Many people still hate Hitler, have they actually seen or lived at the same time, no.
For me John Lennon's music and moreover, his personality and values are important and many of the things he said i still find applies nowadays and i am very grateful he had the courage to say them.
