That has nothing to do with anything I mentioned, but while you mentioned it...

It's alot easier to stick a card in your wallet than have a bunch of tokens loose in your pocket. Plus, I can put as many "tokens" on my card as I want. And the card has a nifty drawing on it.

The "point" is the currency is no longer a tangible object, but numbers in a database somewhere, and your card just represents your record in that database. It's another step toward a completely digital monetary system.

Plus, look how HAPPY it makes me ^_^

I'd rather have tokens, because it's a lot easier to keep track of my remaining balance with them. And borrow them from friends when I'm short.

This is what a coin pouch is for. And since it's very hard to insert a token incorrectly, the turnstiles can run faster with them.

Well I don't put my card in incorrectly and umm I uhhh digital currency... umm... generic buzzwords...
