What's up with that grammer?
Blowing stuff up is always fun. In fact, last US Independance Day, a bunch of guys filled a box with fire crackers, tanks, snakes, smoke bombs, and bottle rockets.
They lit it on fire of course.

What's up with that grammer?
It's a perfectly acceptable grammatical formation, one you see sometimes. The verb "is" refers to the noun "history."

I believe its a shortened version of "this nation's history is a history"
The first history can be optional so in this case it was sold on eBay.
