You might find that interesting:

"We are working on getting the first four books back in print. As for the sixth book, we have not received the materials for that book from David Simpson." - Freitag the Order Troll <orders@plan9publishing.com>

As Richard so astutely noticed, I'm actually not putting this one out through Plan Nine.

I hadn't announced it yet because I haven't had a chance to proof a copy myself (I ordered one when I finished, but these things take a few days). More on that later.

Plan 9 is having book-binding issues. To hear them tell it, their binder has bound the books, but won't hand them over. (Anyone else think there HAS to be more to that story?)

I know most of this second hand, since, well...they don't communicate much with me, or pay me very often (although when they pay me, they pay me in full), and their failure to keep my books in stock over the last two years has been a source of constant frustration. It may, for all I know, not be their fault. (David Allen has always been a fan and I know he wants to keep O&M in print; he's even suggested some new things which, if they get their binding issues sorted out, for all I know could still happen. Who knows?) But at this point intent hardly matters. I need the lost income and you need books. Yes you do. Don't argue with me.

Some other webstrip artists have had luck with Lulu (Brad Guigar of "Greystone Inn," another Plan 9 veteran, helped sell me on the idea, when I asked him about his experience) and, in fact, I had assumed print-on-demand technology would eventually reach this point. But maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.

Anyway, I will eventually purchase Lulu's global distribution service for both books, which will get me an ISBN number, the ability to sell through sites like Amazon and Borders, and also my books will be "made available in the UK through Bertrams and Gardners, who are wholesalers in the UK market." So those of you who are overseas, particularly in the UK, may see a price drop on shipping there. I'm not sure how that works. Right now I haven't got the $150 for each of the two books to spend on that, but once I've got a little money from this initial run...

Here's hoping for big things, eh? Or at least quality.

That sounds great. Selling through Amazon and making it avaliable overseas would definately increase potential sales(we won't know for sure untill it starts selling). Overseas shipping costs are a bi-...err, "big hastle." Yeah, thats it.
