To boldly blackmail where no one has blackmailed before . . .
"The beauty of this is that it is only of theoretical importance,
and there is no way it can be of any practical use whatsoever."

Yeah, I looked up the definition as well, Google says:

Quote:

The infinitive is the part of the verb expressed by "to," as in "to move" or "to think." A split infinitive is such an expression with a word or phrase interposed between the "to" and the verb, as in "to reluctantly move" or "to quickly think."

Second panel is awesome

Heh.

If Millie's going to succeed in this diabolical plan, Isolde may be the person (dragon) to turn to.

They are of course two great minds that think alike, but Isolde's got the experience and l33t dragon training Millie lacks. Plus, she's taller, so, she can reach things.

An infinitive, in English, is a combination of "to" and the neutral form of a verb. "To go" is an example of an infinitive. Therefore, a split infinitive has something to separate the two words, as in "to boldly go." Most grammarians do not allow split infinitives, but "to go boldly where no man has gone before" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Other languages tend not to have that problem. In Spanish, for instance, ir is an infinitive meaning "to go."

Its artistic minimalism. The finger lines may be too close together if drawn in. Or something.
