-- Edit, ooops, that was Luke 3:16
On John 3:16 I have a different comment People tend to forget John 3:17 when quoting John 3:16 Their reason probably has to do with John 3:20, but only God can judge them on that.
-- end edit.

BTW, the quote I read from was one of the older editions I have, it was translated 1953, so uses a lot of older language, and hasn't been corrected for a few gramatical errors in the orriginal latin translation of several verses. I do not believe this verse was affected too much by the translations issues, though, if I recall loose, was put to the modern word Loosen, and the gramar was put into active voice there, as many of the early latin translations, like the one this edition was based on used an excessive ammount of passive voice, as it was standard practice in latin at the time.

I generally don't lecture people on such things, but I felt it was necessary to explane that to any of the right-wingers out there who don't know how to interpret translations. Generally I refrain from such statements unless necessary.

BTW, If David is saying something there, he may want to be less subtile. I can only pick up subtileties to a certain degree, and that one is missing any polarity. I'm one of the best at subleties and I can only pick up that the subject is on his mind. The fact that it was a less frequently quoted verse is quite interesting, though . . . I should take a more detailed look at that frame.

BTW, if he wants a few good quotes try Leviticus 19:17-18, Leviticus 19:34, Leviticus 35-37 Interesting how some people try to justify their actions by calling people sinners when they can't follow the rules themselves. Of course I can't judge a person for that as I'm far from perfect myself. I can only judge the validity of their statements based on their other actions, not them personally. Everyone makes mistakes.

Ahh, yes, the loop hole of "was". DCS is a wiley one. hey, so long as his mother doesn't scream out "SHAVE ME" as a feral green dragon drags her off into the back of a castle, while you run through and survive by some strange luck, and as long as ozy doesn't call himself "Dirk", i think we're good! (Dragon's Lair, one of the greatest full motion videogames ever).

I do fel really sorry for ozy in that last panel, though. so cute, and... well, alone

There must be a vortex to Locke's World and due to a lack of having contructed a fort with cushions above it she couldn't find an exit.

It's quite simple. Obviously, the creation of this ice cream triggered a space-time contradiction where the forgotten memory was actually restored at the point it was forgotten; that is, the memory was never forgotten. However, the consumer of this ice cream would be able to recognize that he had remembered something forgotten, but it would appear that it was indeed never forgotten at all. Sine this is, of course, impossible, a space time vortex materialized...no, that's not the correct word. It suddenly existed, and then proceeded to not exist several moments later. But not before absorbing everyone who had tasted this ice cream.

.........I've been watching too much Star Trek, haven't I?

At first I was thinking "Ohh! Vortex behind the couch or something!" but the ice cream side effect thing seems to have more merit.

And I wonder about Ozy's dad, where's he in the picture?

Her discovery created an imbalance in the ice cream industry which the dragons have a tight command of.

But i don't think we've seen any malicious dragons in the comic yet.

They might just be keeping all the ice cream for themselves. Big coverup and all.

"... Goo?"

Aww, poor Ozy. That last panel really tugs at the heartstrings.

You know, I'm surprised at this group: with all the pyromaniacs, you'd think someone would suggest it.

Spontaneous Vulpine Combustion

On another note:

One of the best ways to start an argument is to say something about religion, so I'll do my very best here to start another debate. . .

Some of us might be overthinking the inclusion of the sign reading "John 3:16" in the background of this week's strip. It seems that is also the verse that has somehow been added to lots of signs over the years by fans of rock stars and celebrities.

However, something that jumped out of the previous strip for me was how closely the pattern followed the temptation of Jesus in the desert (Matt 4). Now, I don't think we want to attach any godly or messianic qualities to either of these characters, but this may be an indication that good stories repeat themselves.
