Wasn't his name Steve or something? The black cat, I mean.
Close enough: Stevie.

Sayyy. I wonder if there'll be a bigger role for Stevie in the future. If not in the rare updates of post-elementary O&M, then in one of those comics DCS keeps planning.

"Ozy and Millie" becomes "Stevie and Isabell"?

That is, if that little skunk girl's name is Isabell, my brain is hazy on the accuracy of that.

I view this strip as being a wrapping-up point for their school lives, with others to be concluded in the near future. Obviously I don't expect every loose end to be tied up, but I don't expect this to be the only one that does.

I too am very curious as to what Millie was about to say, hehe.

IIRC, O&M is just 10 years old and Last week of school? So that means, DCS secretly aged O&M to twelve years old :? ? Since in my country, at age twelve. You'd be going to high-school.

..Or they're having an epically early graduation. :?

Or maybe they aged some more off camera. It happens. I know this one time when I was taking a picture of my brother the instant, the very instant, I take the camera off him he aged to two hundred and crumbled to dust.

In the U.S., what we call high school usually starts with ninth grade, which sees most students aged 14-15. Elementary school typically ends with fifth grade, when most students will be 10-11. Between elementary and high school, we have junior high school.

At all the schools I've ever known, junior high was just seventh and eighth. Now, if they call it "middle school" instead, it could start as early as fifth, dividing up the system more or less evenly.

In the public school system in my county, it depends where in town you live. Some schools go to six only and you go to junior high for seven and eight, while others go all the way to eight.

In other news, I graduated university a couple weeks back!

Same (though the year after I graduated junior high, they moved 6th grade to the junior highs thoughout the county)

I want it to be almost completely open to interpretation.
Hey Bacon, let's go exploring.
