This story line is unoriginal, Stanley Kubrick did it.

Isn't this all a bit cliché for Ozy and Millie? I found the breaking point strip really quite emotive, the aftermath I just find irritating. If I were them I would have walked out of school and gone home or sat somewhere scenic.
I feel the same way. The Breaking point strip was pretty powerful, and I thought that DCS could have gone places with it. Nope, right back to "Lol, bullying is bad and the victims never win!"

I expected more from Ms. Zorkowitz. And what about reliable witnesses?

I don't care if it's cliché, honestly. Seeing Millie cry this much is breaking my heart.

...but seeing Ms. Sorkowitz actually hop makes me full of glee, for some strange reason.

Actually, it's "LOL, zero tolerance policies are bad." And not so much with the lol either.

I just graduated high school in 2005, so I got to put up with this crap firsthand. I once received a three-day in-school suspension for throwing a pencil AT A WALL. I kid you not. "But a pencil is pointy!" Rrrrgh. Yes, there was provocation (from someone in the class, not from the wall), but I definitely aimed for the wall beside my desk, which was in fact against the wall (good thing, too, as there aren't many things I could hit by aiming for them, but a wall six inches away seems reasonable enough).

Then there was the time a kid tried to beat me up, so I flailed my arms about in some lame attempt at blocking a blow maybe (may have grabbed onto an arm or something too). So we both got expelled for a bit (forget how long), because Self-Defense = Fighting <del>Back</del>*, according to zero tolerance. The fight barely lasted 20 seconds, by the way, and neither one of us landed a blow (well, not a blow that could be termed that in a conventional sense, but we must have been expelled for something, yeah?).

Anyway, pardon my diatribe. Zero tolerance policies are very bad when it comes to shades of grey, and the only way it could ever not eventually bite some victim in the butt is if the government were to put into effect their secret plan <del>of restocking the nation's youth with an army of Gandhi clones</del>* that I absolutely can't mention because it's secret.

*Also, after scouring the Internet, I surrender to the fact that I will never ever ever learn how people are managing to get strikethrough text on the Internet. I sure can't manage it.

Also also, apparently I already had an account here and forgot about it. Huh. Well, congratulations me on my seventh post?

could it be that she was the sister of the boy in Kansas who loved the girl with the tattered shawl who was the daughter of the maid who had escaped from the pirates?

Man, this story is heartbreaking. It's a world I remember all too well. School politics can be the biggest bull**** sometimes. I really hope this all works out in Millie's favor in the end. I think Her and all the unpopular, unfairly treated kids past and present deserve such a victory.

How is this cliché? I'm not getting that - this is only the second time in the strip's history to my knowledge that the issue has been covered in any depth, and here it's being portraying far more *realistically*, if anything, than in any sort of a cliché manner.

It's a difficult subject, as almost everyone has experienced it. Kudos to DCS for having the courage to examine something like this - it's something I've flinched from considering in the past myself, so I know it's not easy, especially with so large an audience.

:offtopic:

I had to stop looking at it after 5 replays because it was making me laugh painfully.

YOU MUST TELL ME WHAT THAT PINK THING IS. IT WAS FUNNY.

FUNNY PINK THING IS FUNNY.

Aww... Millie cried again.

:ontopic:

The hopping is definitely out of place. I ended up smiling about the hopping without even noticing Millie was crying the first time. :?
Anami and Anami are sitting around Anami says "GRR I AM ANGSTY LET'S EXPRESS ANGST" and so Anami says "ONE OF THE MODS ON DC IS A DICK I POSTED A PICTURE THAT WASN'T REALLY THAT INAPPROPRIATE AND THREE MODS SAW IT AND DID NOTHING THEN A FOURTH ONE SAW IT AND DELETED IT" and Anami says "OMG I HATE MODS >:("

Aww... Millie cried again.
I wonder... do you think that if Millie knew how we reacted when we saw her cry, she'd realize it's a sort of evil superpower to gain sympathy, trust, and... y'know, pancakes and stuff, then she'd cry her way to world domination?
