Or it could be an indirect reference to another comic author named Hayes.
No; I would never acknowledge his existence within the strip.

At the risk of inciting somebody, might I ask who this other Hayes is? He must be quite something, if O&M will mention everyone from Pat Buchanan to Larry the Cable Guy but not him.

He's a comic artist, so probably the one that said he loved OM but he's like...yeah so DCS doesn't like that people like him are supporting her.

I totally paraphrased that :-p
pants jesus
DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

[self-flap-slap] I just realized exactly whom you guys mean.

BTW, I don't think anyone's pointed out the misspelling of "Rutherford" in the thread title.

I was wondering how long I was gonna get away with that. :P

Whoa, watch it, J.A.M.! DCS doesn't want anyone to put up any links in Define Cynical to the works of RHJ.

Mercifully, "Tales of the Questor," with its dearth of politics, is the least objectionable (and IMO easily the best) comic he does.

Don't ever plug Ralph's work here again, please.

O_o I sense bad blood. Something tells me I don't want to know what this is about (not that that keeps me from wanting to want to know what this is about, but that hurts my head).

Ralph Hayes, Jr. is the creator of a furry comic called "Nip and Tuck" which, I hear, is the comic strip equivalent of Ann Coulter. D.C. has a thing about comics of that ilk sharing her fanbase. Can't say I blame her. (Which makes me wonder what she thinks of Dave Hopkins.)

On the other hand, Hayes' other work, "Tales of the Questor" (which the J.A.M. linked to), isn't too bad. At least the part I've read so far.

A couple months ago (I think), someone had linked to "Nip & Tuck" here and was unsure why DCS objected. I told what I knew about both RHJ's comics and his reputation for being unpleasant with people who disagreed with him. DCS added that it got pretty personal when RHJ joined the O&M mailing list primarily to rave against liberalism in the rudest way. After two years, the moderator saw fit to kick him out for express physical threats.

I don't know if RHJ is still that bad, but I've heard that his own forum kicks out anyone who wants to debate.

Ahhh... ok that would explain it. Those people are annoying, and it only gets worse the more people they have ganging up behind them. If it happened to me I'd simply erect a brick wall between him and me somehow... refusing to talk to him in anything but l33tspeak would do the trick nicely.

Well, I won't say it happens ALL the time, more like once or twice a month :D. The strips are enjoyable, to me, at least. and you don't HAVE to participate in the forums. It's not just him, either. Mostly everyone there disagrees with everyone else at one point or another (even disagreements among Christians, but the liberals also tend to bicker among themselves), but that same day those same people participate in RPs on that same forum. Yes, Ralph is on the opposite side of the spectrum that Dave is, so there are GOING to be sparks whenever politics is discussed, so if you feel adventurous enough, be sure to bring your asbestos suit (and links to hard facts if you're VERY adventurous), and marshmallows.

All I'm going to say here (don't want to get involved). I like Tales of the Questor. I highly dislike it's creator.
