Titanic fans rejoice! I have a Titanic RP board. Only... not on the Titanic... and kinda on the Teen side...Nothing real gratuitous though!

I'm guessing both have to do with Utopias that fail, right?

i'll admit, this is a deeper side of avery than we've seen, but we've seen glimps into a deep side before, but not in a hwile (i feel like an old geezer typing htat). i like it. (not the geezerhood, the avery character deveopement). adn i doubpt that at the moment we'll see anything more in the way of devopement, i'm betting we'r ealmost done with this arc.

Three reactions to an overall hillarious strip
i) Well, yes. The fact that Avery doesn't show his intellect often is yet another thing about his character that I find annoying. The whole 'too cool to be smart' attitude is something I hate and Avery's pretending to be dumb in order to attempt to gain popularity simply panders to said attitude.
ii) For some reason Avery being that smart doesn't suprise me at all about his character, him directly showing himself to be that smart does. (as opposed to, well, not showing himself to be that smart directly but giving the overall impression that he is that smart beneath the surface)
iii) ...There are actually people who think Utopia is a model for a perfect society? I mean, I haven't actually read said book but... Graaah! *whimpers*.
(not because I don't feel it to be a worthwhile book but because I don't read enough anymore. Blame my year 9 english teacher who put me off reading when she had everyone read three specific genres a month. Which was fine until we got to a genre that I just couldn't read... Giving the genre of "Diary" to someone who reads for... Oh... plot rather than character developement... Probably not a good idea. I'm someone capable of reading five standard sized sci-fi novels (which I'm not saying my interests in fiction are limited to sci-fi, I'm simply saying 'standard sized sci-fi novel' since that's what they were. 250-300 pages being 'standard sci-fi novel length'. Which is longer than some genres, and presumably shorter than others)... So, the fact it took me... Oh... Several months to get through a 100-150 page book, thus throwing me out of the habbit of reading (and creating the impression in my mind that reading was hard work, despite me blatently knowing that it was a pleasurable activity because of many years previous pleasure found in books), that I wouldn't even have considered reading if it wasn't for her... Annoys me somewhat. There are reasons I didn't read romance, and reasons I don't read diary, and those reasons are that I have no interest in reading books that bore me. These genres bore me because one deals with something that I seem to feel in a different way to the rest of society, and the other because I just don't identify with the protagonists enough.
...She didn't even notice that someone who had previously been reading 5-6 books a month when it was genres that vaguely interested him had slowed down to reading a single book for several months (all during the monitored thing.) Or if she did notice it she didn't percieve it as a problem.)
