Poor Avery, I feel sorry for him.

You know, I don't. I like him as a character, but I can't look past how he treats Ozy and Millie at times. It really doesn't feel good to be the friend that gets forgotten when someone becomes more popular. I know, I've been there.

Obviously Avery hasn't achieved that yet (and may never), but he's still vocal enough about it. So it's kind of hard for me to feel sorry for him. Still, who knows how his character will develop in the coming year or two.

When they first met him, he was more concerned with ADVERTISEMENT, not being cool.

advertisement was actually an attempt to be cool. KABLAMMO Cola was cool. he figured if people knew he drank KABLAMMO they would know he's cool. Just like when he took laxatives and feminine products in an attempt to be regular and whatnot.

I will probably never understand that guy...

Well this recent story thingy pretty much summed up his problems: he's a geek or nerd or whatever with self-esteem issues and is heavily in denial about it. Because of this he spends most of his time trying to become cool and consequently often ends up shunning his true friends who stick by him even when he's jerkish.

Except Ozy and Millie don't seem to mind, neither being all that concerned with coolness. Plus they know about Avery, so they probably know he's going to run off and they still hang out with him because they know what's he's really like.
