I'm certain that when Ozy and Millie moved from 8 to 10, Timulty moved from 4 to 5. There's no good reason for DCS to have snuck in yet another birthday when we weren't looking.

I wonder if we'll ever see or hear about any of Timulty's classmates. He seems awfully cheery for a complete outsider to his grade.

Heh, that'd certainly be an interesting plot arc - Timulty's first day of school!

With the change in art style, some characters aged more than others, I thought. Timulty aged from 4 to 4 (though I thought at one stage he was 3), O&M and their classmates aged from 8 to 10 (though I thought at one stage they were 7), and I'm fairly sure the adult characters didn't age.

The age increases, to my knowledge, weren't uniform, anyway.

...Just like the age differences between Sonic 3 and the current Sonic games (I swear, some characters have aged, some have decreased in age and some have stayed the same age in the bios there)

Wait, are we talking fox/dog/racoon/sheep years, or human years?

It's simple: each of the characters experience a "normal" flow of time. However, time in fact flows at differing rates for each of them. The time differences are so miniscule that they are unrecognizable in small amounts (e.g., a single strip), but have their impact when large amounts of time (for a given character) have passed. The flow is also not constant; this explains the sudden burst from eight to ten years of age that some of the characters experienced. Furthermore, time only flows at a "normal" rate when it is observed - namely, during the events taking place in a strip. Between strips, time will pass however fast or slow it feels like, although it wil usually stop completely between strips in a story arc. This may all seem completely illogical, but then again, there's a most strange world behind Llewellyn's couch, so I think it's safe to say that logic has been dead (or on extended vacation) for quite some time.

(I really need to lay off the sci fi.)
(Also, it seems my definition of "simple" could stand for some revision.)

Ah, that makes so much more sense to me.

They age according to the whims of their great Almighty God, Superior Being of DCS, then.

<!--emo&
