So, my present to you this week is, I'm going to do something I originally said I'd never do, but, well, why not I guess: I'm going to show off the illustrated poem thingy from book two.

I'm not gonna leave it in the archives--it has to be special in some way, right?--or run it at a very high resolution. But, I hope you enjoy it anyway, and I'll be back with new strips for the new year, next week.

...I forget. Did we ever decide if Ozy's hat and waistcoat are purple because of the surreality of this poem, or due to the night-time-lighting-colour-distortion-effect-stuff?

I hadn't noticed DCS's words below the comic. Now I understand why Ozy is drawn the old way, with his pudgy face and stubby legs.

I personally think it was because of the night-time lightning effect that he was purple.

Also, since I'm too poor to afford the books, I'm so glad he's posting this!
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Actually, it looks like Millie's poster is a "Toad the Wet Sprocket" poster, based on a design for a shirt for that band that DCS made once.
