Millie might not want to taint the perfect curvature of her erasers or the unblemished surfaces of her new notebooks. Sounds like a perfect excuse to not do your work.

A theory expoused by John Locke (discredited by now I think). The idea is that everybody is inherently equal. A blank slate if you will. And our experiences write on the slate and make us who we are.
